It’s term break and our Little Ones may be staying at home more, to be with their older siblings. Here are some ideas for activities that are HUGE on FUN and do wonders for their development!

Terrific Term Break!
It’s term break and our Little Ones may be staying at home more, to be with their older siblings. Here are some ideas for activities that are HUGE on FUN and do wonders for their development!
Create!
Arts and crafts: Provide crayons, markers, coloured paper, stickers, and other craft supplies for them to create masterpieces. Let them mix paint and explore the colours the mixes create.
Storytime: Read books together or create your own stories. Think of different endings to the stories you read!
Move!
Indoor obstacle course: Set up a simple obstacle course using cushions, pillows, chairs, and other household items.
Sensory bins: Fill a bin with items like rice, beans, or water, along with toys or objects for sensory exploration. Provide scoops, pincers and chopsticks for the Little Ones to attempt to transfer the items from one container to another.
Music!
Dance party: Put on some music and have a dance party in the living room.
Percussion: Use household items as drums to accompany their favourite jingles and songs.
Food!
Baking or cooking: Let them help you measure and mix ingredients for simple recipes like cookies or muffins.
Ice lollies: Create healthy “ice-cream” by freezing yogurt with cut up fruits.
Build!
Building with blocks or LEGO: Encourage creativity and fine motor skills by building towers, houses, or whatever they imagine.
Camping time: Build a little tent or “house” with chairs and blankets. You will be amazed at how resourceful your Little One can be!
